My Discovery of Mr. Wysocki's Poor Committee Attendance
by Alan Gaynor 2025-10-27

I first met Jeff Wysocki at the Hoosick Falls music festival organized by Kevin O'Malley In late July of this year. Fortunately, some of my friends are Republicans! I was there with a Republican friend who knows Jeff. My friend introduced us and we shook hands. I found him to be polite and reasonable. Then, he told me that he didn't appreciate what I had been saying about his attendance on the literature I was distributing at that time in Hoosick Falls.
Here is what my literature said at that time:
"Jeffery Wysocki attended only one of his committee meetings in 2023. He attended ZERO in 2024."
He told me that what I wrote wasn't true.
As a professional technical writer—and an occasional investigative reporter—I take truth and accuracy pretty seriously. However, I trust my campaign committee to do research. They had done the research on that item and I put it on the postcard on that basis.
When Jeff objected, I told him that I would investigate more extensively myself and that I would issue a public apology if it was false or inaccurate.
My research discovered that his committee attendance was even worse than what we put on my postcard. In summary, in the past three years (‘22, ‘23, ‘24):
Consequently, he was absent from committee meetings 94% of the time!

This report includes something that my postcards could not: the 30 times that Casale, Gendron, Grant, or Loveridge covered for him as proxies in the committee meetings that he missed. Proxies from within the Republican Party covered Jeff's many absences. The proxies take on extra work to cover for Jeff's absences. Let's remember that we, the taxpayers, are paying Jeff's salary, even when other people cover for him.
That extensive coverage for his committee absences raises additional questions:
I am investigating these questions. They are important because the County may be spending even more of our tax dollars to pay the proxies.
Conclusion
On 1-August-2025, as soon as I had completed my research, I sent an email to Jeff's official email address with a return receipt. I wanted to share the results of my research and let him know that I was not going to issue an apology because what I wrote was true. That same day, I got a message stating that someone named Sheldon Fenton had read the email. I don't know who he is and he never responded. Most importantly, Jeff Wysocki never responded to my email.
How can a County Legislator who fails to attend committee meetings—or respond to constituents—claim to represent us?
